WHY DO I HAVE TO BE A CERTIFIED FREEDIVER?
To be able to spearfish you must possess basic freediving knowledge and skills. The only way for us to confirm this is by providing us with your freediving certification.
Self-taught spearfishers may be missing on some of the fundamentals.
In order to minimize the risks involved, for both safety & insurance purposes we only accept certified freedivers in our guided spearfishing excursions.
If you want to freedive it’s highly recommended to complete a freediving course with an experienced instructor from a reputable freediving organization.
First of all it’s important to do so for safety.
You will also learn proper ways and essential freediving skills & techniques that are going to optimize your performance and maximize your efficiency, which is a must if you want to perform well in spearfishing.
Malta has ideal conditions for both beginners and advanced freedivers, all year round.
It’s a lovely island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea with beautiful coastline, stunning landscapes, crystal clear waters and rich marine life.
Dive sites are easily accessible from shore. Most of our training sessions are conducted right on top of ship wrecks, which makes it a truly unforgettable experience.
As for guided freediving excursions there is a great deal of amazing underwater structures & landscapes to explore on a single breath of air. Your spearfishing guide and buddy will be Denis – AIDA Master Instructor who has been literally living underwater and spearfishing in Malta for the last 8 years. There are no unknown spots from 0 to 40+ meters.
It doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner or a deep spearfishing addict. Most certainly you can always catch yourself a nice dinner here in Malta.
However, once we talk about big game then it becomes more challenging. Experienced spearfishers know the value of local experience, good micro locations and knowing the right fishing conditions.
You can rest assured that you will be at the right spot at the right time and if it’s a good day you might even get a shot to land that trophy monster.
